Will Your Ticket Go to Court?

Statistics show that upwards of 90% of drivers ticketed for a moving violation never go to court. These drivers simply plead guilty, accept responsibility, and pay their fine through the mail.  Many people do not realize that when you receive a traffic citation, the cost of your insurance premiums increases and points are assigned to your license.

If you get enough points, your license can be suspended or even revoked.  The purpose of the point system is to help to improve driving habits and to ensure safe driving.  When a driving record reaches 6 or more points for the first time, the driver will receive a written notice to take a written special point examination.  When the driving record is reduced below 6 points and reaches 6 or more points for a second time, the driver will have to attend a departmental hearing.
